This actually isn’t too terrible of an idea. If Twitter sold a server, then corporations could control the content and material that their employees tweet and retweet. Sure there could still be the public Twitter accounts, but companies could offload quite a bit of content, bandwidth, and overhead. This isn’t unheard of; Google sells the Google Search Appliance, which is a custom Google Server for in-house corporate use. This is the same concept. I like it.
